Winter Fun

Alex and I made our family out of snow. Funny how this was only about 3 weeks ago and now all of the snow is gone! What the heck!!
Alex is a bit upset that it is all gone. He says that he is filled with ice and snow and that I am filled with grass and sunshine!

Mad Scientist Part 2

Alex is not a fan of art type crafts but let him create a mess doing his scientist "work" and he really gets into it.Here he was working on mixing small amounts of milk into water to watch it make clouds. Then he wanted to see what food coloring would do to it. Then he wanted to mix colors. He really likes to dissolve things. We did an experiment with different snacks. Nerds, chocolate chips, gummy spiders and cupcake sprinkles. The gummy spiders didn't make it too far before they got eaten.
Last we dissolved red Kook Aid into the water. I wouldn't recommend that.

Blog Stealer!

My friend Erinn said I could steal her blog post from last week!!
See you guys have my friends watching your backs... makin' sure you have some up to date info on the boy! lol
We ended up at the Children's Museum twice in just a few days. Today we went with Skyler and Ani! Haven't seen those guys in a long time...
Alex drew this picture of our family on the wipe board at Daddy's office. We went for a short visit on Monday after hanging out with friends in Bloomington. Another group of friends that Alex's hasn't seen in a long time. This preschool is cutting into our social life!

Halloween 2009

We had another busy Halloween this year! Alex's preschool class put on a little show for the parents and they also had some spooky treats to share.

Cuties!!
The little guy on the left is Alex's "buddy", Key-Von. I was a bit nervous about this boy when the first time I volunteered in their class he held up our pretend grocery store. "Gimme yo money. Don't ya know I gots kids to feed!" ... as he is snatching the bills from the till drawer and Alex and I are watching open mouthed!
Daddy and Alex carved our pumpkin.

Careful of the boy with the knife...Spooky
Grandma Carron set up some pumpkin carving for Alex and Maren. Neither of them were big fans of taking out the goo.Ta Da!
She also let them decorate cupcakes.
... and a goblin came to deliver a treat.
The had to follow an M&M trail through the yard to where the goblin left a treat. Alex was quite obsessed with the specifics of this goblin for quite some time. We also headed to the Children's Museum with the Yeagers and Letts.* They had games and trick or treat stations set up for the kids.

Finally we ended the holiday with trick or treating!! We crashed the Yeager's neighborhood. Alex seemed to have a great time running around with his friends. They made a haul!Happy Halloween for Police Officer Alex!

*Notice that Daddy was in a wheelchair? He ruined his ankle while playing volleyball. He was out for a long time... Even had to miss trick or treating. He did get to pass out the candy though!

Summer Catch Up

Creative Play

We've enrolled Alex in a new preschool this year. Closer to home. Non-immersion.
This decision tore me up... but so far I'm pretty happy. These are some pictures of the open house that Joe took Alex too. This preschool is set up exactly like Joyce. Kitchen play area, an area that changes monthly, a reading nook, circle time area and craft tables. The same.
I love his little face in this picture! Clifford the Big Red Dog was at the school to greet the kids.

For Alex's first day of school I went with and spent the day with him. This school is completely different than Joyce too. Very structured and well organized. This teacher even has the parents marching in line! There are book orders every month. A sign up sheet for snacks. An actual system for picking up and dropping off the kids. No wrestling kids during circle time.
Love it!
*Joyce was great for a lot of reasons, I loved the teachers and the immersion. Still think we made a great choice though.

Foolin' The Dentist

We were on our way to the dentist on Tuesday and Alex had the great idea of foolin' the dentist with his big dragon teeth.

The whole office got a big kick out of it.

...and Alex did great. X-ray went well and he was a perfect charmer. Just like his Daddy and Papa.
